Good news for IKEA’s customers from Rijeka and surrounding areas.
The first delivery centre of IKEA Croatia in the Rijeka area was opened on Wednesday at Čavle near Rijeka. It covers about 1,100 square metres of storage and office space and employs four people, reports N1 on 12 July 2017.
Customers will be able to order IKEA products online, and they will then be delivered to the centre. Although the service will not be free, IKEA points out this will still save their customers time and money, since they will not longer have to travel all the way to Zagreb.
The delivery procedure consists of two steps. First, products must be ordered via the IKEA internet store or purchased at the IKEA Zagreb physical store. Customers can select, online or directly at the store in Zagreb, the option of delivering products to the delivery centre in Rijeka. After the delivery of the goods to the centre, the buyer receives a message that the products are ready for the final delivery and they then have three days to come to the centre to pick up the goods.
Talking about the idea and the concept of the new project, the logistics manager of the IKEA Zagreb department store and the project manager Suzana Rumbak Baretić said that the goal was to make IKEA solutions more accessible for customers
“We are currently oriented towards the coast, because of the largest number of customers, in addition to Zagreb, come from coastal counties,” she said.
The official opening of the delivery centre was marked by the very first buyer, who ordered the products on-line. In addition to the products ordered, he also received a gift from IKEA’s range of products.
The first and so far only IKEA department store in Croatia has been opened near Zagreb. It attracts a large number of customers from Croatia, Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia.
