After successfully completing the refurbishment of 24 generators across Finland since 2003, Končar Generators and Motors will now work for Pohjois-Karjalan Sähkö Oy in the region of North Karelia
Only two months after they signed a contract for the delivery of two new replacement generators and excitation systems for the Finnish hydropower plant Korkeakoski, Croatian power generators maker Končar Generatori i Motori (GIM)announced on March 26, 2016, that they have just signed another large international contract in Finland, this time for generator revitalization in hydropower plant Puntarikoski.
Končar GIM’s new client is a company Pohjois-Karjalan Sähkö Oy which manages all power production plants in the region of North Karelia. This new contract includes the delivery of a new stator, re-insulation of poles as well as the dismantling, assembly, testing, commissioning and delivery of spare parts. The revitalised generator will have the power of 8 MVA and the rotation of 150 rpm.
Puntarikoski is the 16th hydropower plan with Končar’s generators, and according to the press release, since 2003 when Končar started working in Finland; they have revitalized 24 generators in this country.
