In 2015, Mate Rimac’s company had a profit of 1.9 million kuna.
For Mate Rimac, an entrepreneur and innovator, 2015 was a great year. His company Rimac Automobili almost tripled its revenues from 10.7 million kuna to 29.7 million kuna, he significantly increased the number of employees, and for the first time he made more than a million kuna in profits. His profits increased from 620,000 kuna in 2014 to 1.9 million kuna, reports tportal.hr on May 26, 2016.
According to data, Rimac in 2015 increased the number of employees from about 30 to 80. The current number of employees is even higher. Rimac in his statements talks about 150 employees and expects to end the year with about 300 employees. All of this demonstrates that his business operations are steadily growing.
Since 2014, Rimac Automobili has attracted several foreign investors, making it by far the most successful Croatian startup company. In March, at the prestigious Motor Show in Geneva, Rimac attracted the attention of global audience with his new Concept_S model.
He produces electric supercars in small series – up to now he has produced and sold eight Concept_One models – and they primarily serve as a platform for advertising his technology solutions.
“We are here more as a manufacturer of technology and engineering solutions for other car manufacturer, than as a producer of cars”, said Rimac during the car show in Geneva. However, he did say they were working on some models which would be produced and sold in larger quantities.
In April last year, in an interview with Croatian edition of Forbes, Rimac outlined his long-term business plan. Concept_S should be produced in a series of between 15 and 20 cars. Then the next model would be produced in a series of between 60 and 80 cars, while the fourth model would be produced in a series of about 300 cars. All three new models should be developed by 2020.
