Cammeo Taxi changes prices, but claims it is still the cheapest taxi in Zagreb.
The management of the Cammeo Taxi Group announced on Tuesday new prices for their taxi services. They were forced to make that decision, they said, following the decision of the Zagreb City Assembly on the amendments to the decision about the auto-taxi transport adopted in December 2015. Because of this decision, Cammeo stated, the company will lose almost 300,000 kuna. However, it did manage to retain a 40 percent cheaper start price in comparison with the competition in the capital, reports Poslovni.hr March 16, 2016.
The representatives of the Cammeo Group have submitted the new price lists to the relevant city office, and these prices will come into effect on 21 March at midnight. According to the new tariff model, the start rate at Taxi Cammeo is 6 kuna, while the price per kilometre is also 6 kuna. Therefore, Cammeo will still have the cheapest service for all destinations. Their previous start rate was 15 kuna, but the first two kilometres were free. The start price at Eko taxi is a bit more expensive – 8,80 kuna, while the price per kilometre is 6 kuna, same as Cammeo. If you choose Radio Taxi, the start will cost 10 kuna, and one kilometre 6 kuna.
Meanwhile, although Taxi Cammeo says the decision of the City Assembly is not fair, they are doing what is expected from them and will respect the terms.“The costs of the tariff model calibration and the calibration of taximeters for every vehicle in the fleet will amount to almost 300,000 kuna. In addition, this process represents a waste of time, because during technical adjustments vehicles are not available and Cammeo cannot operate with all its available capacities, which causes additional financial expense not only for the taxi companies, but also for the state which will collect less taxes due to this period of inactivity”, Cammeo explained.
