ZAGREB, September 9, 2018 – Economy Minister Darko Horvat said on Saturday that at this moment it was impossible to talk about a new strategic partner for the Uljanik shipyard without decisions of the dock’s supervisory committee and the assembly.
Horvat said this after reporters asked him about Uljanik’s future, following Friday’s meeting with European Commissioner Margrethe Vestager.
“The message we received yesterday was very clear. At this moment, the concentration of the state in the restructuring plan is too big according to the opinion of the European Commission and as much as the European Commission sees the determination of the state that it wants to help Uljanik and 3. Maj docks, it is still not certain if a strategic partner wants and can do that, ” Horvat said.
On the other hand, the European Commission gave a green light for the privatisation of the Petrokemija company.
