Some fantastic moves being made by one Northern Croatian company!

As Poslovni Dnevnik reports on the 9th of October, 2017, The company Međimurjeplet from Čakovec has expanded its business to parquet, as well as tourism and conservation works over the last few years, from its primary activity of the production and sale of furniture and accessories made from natural materials.

“We’re actively working on the popularisation of wood products and it seems that wood has really returned in a big way to our homes, either as quality furniture, or as parquet and the like. In recent years, we’ve been particularly profiled in the segment of energy efficient windows and lift sliding doors, and oiled flooring,” states Nikolina Babić, a member of the Board of Međimurjeplet and Director of their daughter company Pana Stolarija, which specialises in joinery, parquet flooring and briquette.

She adds that they’re consciously working on expanding their product innovations, as well as expanding the sectors that are a kind of “natural” market for someone like Pana – tourism.

“Caterers and hoteliers have recognised the integrity of our products, so we’ve been working on a number of such projects recently and some of them are Amarin’s apartments in Rovinj, the villas of Augusta Alhambra and Hortensija in Mali Lošinj, and the Esplanade Hotel in Crikvenica. The great thing is that in our [Croatia’s] tourist offer, there’s space for domestic products and that high quality is increasingly being searched out, [such as] ecological wood products, and natural resources of which there are very many in our country,” notes Babić.

She adds that today, wood/aluminum windows are particularly searched for, and these products are among the most prestigious and top quality products on the market. They have now expanded to the German market where they are working on projects for exclusive villas, in which their products are of course incorporated.

“The German market is very large and that makes it a market of great potential. It is certainly important that the product standards are equal, so our production with its quality, logistics, certificates etc, is compatible with their requirements.

Medjimurjeplet is generally oriented towards exports, which account for 75% of its sales. The main export markets are to Austria, Germany, Switzerland, France and other European Union countries.
