March the 4th, 2024 – The much loved Opatija Miramar Hotel is entering its 20th year of doing business in this charming Kvarner town with a brand new owner.

As Poslovni Dnevnik writes, continuing its tradition of high quality and taking a much more personalised approach to each guest, the Opatija Miramar Hotel is set to enter the upcoming tourist season in the celebratory atmosphere of its 20th anniversary. There’s also a new owner. The Mészáros-Group, owned by Hungarian entrepreneur Lőrinc Mészáros, took over this beloved jewel of Opatija on March the 1st this year, and the hotel doors opened to the hotel’s first guests on Sunday, March the 3rd.

The Opatija Miramar Hotel will as such now be led by a well-established, dynamic management team – the chief executive officer of the company and expert in the development of tourist destinations, Dr. Orsolya Szakály, and the hotel director, Andreas Madejski, who has been actively working in the management of Miramar for many years to maintain its continuity of excellence and satisfaction.

“We’re really looking forward to this new, exciting season at Miramar, all the more so because we’re celebrating an important anniversary, which is laying solid foundations for preserving our rich tradition and widely known level of quality. On this occasion, we’re also set to celebrate all those who make our Wellness Resort so unique – because the warm, family atmosphere we cherish is our greatest pride! I can promise that we’ll do everything to continue to build that special connection with our guests and always work to exceed all their expectations”, said Madejski, adding that every single guest is treated as a permanent guest from thir verye first stay, with all the benefits of that status.

“The specialty of the Opatija Miramar Hotel is that in its development, it was always guided by the wishes of the guests themselves, all while appreciating the contributions of the employees. I can freely say that here we all act as one big family and this is exactly what our loyal guests return to year after year. High standards and an atmosphere of both satisfied guests and employees form the core of our exceptional quality, which the hotel will continue to provide in the future. The main topic I want to focus on is sustainability and resource management,” emphasised Dr. Orsolya Szakály.

The hotel’s staff consists exclusively of local residents, which is becoming a much more rare thing to see in these years in Croatia. Over the years, these employees have created a recognisable family identity with their dedication. The new owner duly noted this exceptional quality and decided to take special care of the well-being of his 130 employees. Every employee is given annual holiday in the heart of the summer season and free days in the week throughout the year. All of them receive employment contracts for an indefinite period of time, and free additional health insurance is also being introduced.

The quality of the service and the unique experience tailored to each visitor of the Opatija Miramar Hotel are confirmed by the number of keen reservations – as many as 80 percent of this hotel’s guests return to their “home by the sea” in this charming town for fifteen or even twenty years in a row. They spend an average of four weeks a year in their favourite room. Every year in the pre-season and post-season, some guests stay for three months in the wonderful ambience of the Wellness-Resort, next to the beautiful Opatija lungomare itself.

With its new owner, the gorgeous Opatija Miramar Hotel is firmly continuing its development based on the legacy of its historical identity. Lőrinc Mészáros is also fairly well known to the Croatian public for the company’s large investment in Ičići (Rivas Hotels&Resort) and the construction of the spectacular new stadium of NK Osijek. This Hungarian enterprise also initiated a series of infrastructure projects across Croatia, strengthening local agriculture and raising the level of quality of the tourist offer, thus proving his interest and realistic engagement for the long-term strengthening of various sectors of the Croatian economy.
