As Novac writes on the 5th of October, 2019, the Pevec retail chain has now officially opened a brand new retail centre in Vukovar, which covers an area of 5,000 square metres in total. The construction of the centre is the start of a unique retail park complex that will open next year and will eventually cover nearly 10,000 square feet.

”I’m extremely pleased that we were able to build this facility, the first in Vukovar-Srijem County. Securing jobs and allowing many families to remain here, at the symbol of the Homeland War, is invaluable. Time and time again I emphasise that employees are the most valuable part of our business and I’m proud of the fact that they chose precisely us as a desirable employer. However, our investment in Slavonia isn’t going to just stop in Vukovar, work on the new centre in Vinkovci is progressing, as is the reconstruction of the centre in Slavonski Brod,” said Jurica Lovrinčević, CEO of Pevec.

In addition to its outstanding position at the intersection of Osijek, Vinkovci and Borovo Naselje, the retail park will bring to the residents of Vukovar and its surroundings an unprecedented variety in terms of what will be on offer. The future complex will include fashion shops and outlets, and well-known retail chains have already expressed interest in coming to the park.

”Congratulations to Pevec! Along with the offer which was made possible by Pevec, I must also refer to the social note of their presence in the city. In addition to the jobs that have been preserved and new ones that have been opened to Vukovar’s locals, Pevec has been co-financing our kitchen for a third year in a row with a hugely generous amount of 20,000 kuna a month. There is nothing left for me but to wish Mr. Lovrinčević and all the staff of Pevec a warm welcome,” said Ivan Penava, the mayor of the city of Vukovar, while being hosted by members of the Pevec board of directors, Krešimir Bubalo and Jure Radoš, at the new Vukovar sales centre.

Otherwise, in the last three years, Pevec has increased its revenues by 65 percent. During the same period, it acquired ownership in ten outlets, opened five new outlets and employed nearly 600 new employees.

In addition to the aforementioned shopping centres in Vukovar, Slavonski Brod and Vinkovci, the construction of a new shopping centre in Split is planned in the coming period.
