June the 6th, 2023 – Podravka has decided to invest five million euros in Zito as part of the restructuring process of Zito’s business.
As Poslovni Dnevnik writes, the Podravka Group has completed the first major investment as part of the restructuring of Zito’s business. This is namely a new bread production line at the Vic Bakery in neighbouring Slovenia, which carries with it a total value of around five million euros. This information was released by Podravka itself recently.
Low energy consumption and less burdensome maitenance costs
The modern automated bread production line, with a capacity of up to 2,400 pieces per hour, will be fully operational during the month of June, while the very first products are expected to be placed on the market in the second half of July this year.
According to Podravka’s statement on the topic, this new line will be primarily characterised by low energy consumption, and the maintenance costs are expected to decrease by a more than considerable 20 percent. Subsequently, recuperation will be carried out on the oven, which will enable the use of excess energy from hot water for technological needs and space heating.
Zito’s restructuring has been a success thus far
“The completion of this five-million-euro investment in Vic is an indicator of the successful restructuring process of Zito”, said the president of the Management Board of Podravka, Martina Dalic.
She also stated that additional investments in the modernisation of the bakery in Maribor worth a huge ten million euros are now also underway. These investments include a new automated line and the expansion of the storage capacity of frozen products.
With the restructuring of Zito’s business operations, as stated by Podravka, the focus is being primarily placed on bakery production, technological modernisation and the harmonisation of all current business processes.
