The business delegation consisted of Dogus Group Chairman and CEO Ferit F. Sahenk, Deputy Chairman Hüsnü Akhan and Regional Director Burak Baykan.

The talks focused on Dogus Group’s operations in Croatia so far as well as new business opportunities.

The delegation told President Milanović that new investments would be launched in the autumn and informed him of the group’s plan to take part in projects to build and renovate local infrastructure.

Dogus Group is one of the biggest investors in Croatia’s tourism sector and it has been present in Croatia for more than ten years.

It started doing business in Croatia by buying the D-Marin Mandalina marina in Šibenik, after which it acquired the marinas D-Marin Dalmacija in Sukošan and D-Marin Borik in Zadar.

In 2015 the group opened, in the Mandalin marina, the D-Resort Šibenik Hotel,  its first greenfield investment in Croatia, worth €26 million. The group also owns a boutique hotel in Croatia, Villa Dubrovnik, as well as the Maraska Hotel in Zadar.

Over the past ten years the group has invested a total of €270 million in Croatia and employed around 350 people, mostly domestic workers. In early 2020 it sold its three marinas to the CVC Capital Partners investment fund from Luxembourg.
