Following the last month’s update from Pula about an impressive increase in air traffic, more good news from the international airport in Istria
The record-breaking season continues at Pula Airport, their steady growth and excellent business results being in line with most other popular tourist destinations in Croatia, reports Glas Istre on September 4, 2017.
With each passing month, the airport has been generating higher traffic compared with the same time period in 2016, making for a record tourist year for the coveted destination. Reported data shows the airport in Pula more than made up for the two months at the beginning of the year, when it was temporarily out of operation due to substantial construction work and the renovation of the runway.
The latest data for the month of August shows a 22.5% increase in traffic, with 141.162 reported passengers. Last year, the airport saw 115.198 passengers in August. Overall, in the period between January 1 to August 31, a total of 457.146 passengers were recorded at Pula Airport, making for a 31% increase compared with last year’s 349.981 passengers.
Airport director Svemir Radmilo expressed his satisfaction with the outstanding results. “Of course we’re pleased. Actually, we’re more than pleased. We’re especially optimistic about the favourable predictions for September and October, as we’re expecting further increase in traffic – we’re looking at a total of 600.000 passengers before the end of the year”, Radmilo said.
