All works are expected to be completed by 2019
While Zagreb Airport is postponing the opening of its new wing, according to Poslovni.hr, reconstruction of Dubrovnik Airport is going full steam ahead.
Dubrovnik Airport was among the first projects in the entire European Union to receive funds from the so called Juncker investment enticement plan – European Fund for Strategic Investments. Expansion and reconstruction project is worth 250 million eur out of which 32.5 million will be financed from the above mentioned fund, 145 million will be secured from other EU funds while 88 million eur will be secured from Dubrovnik Airport’s own funds and loans from the European Bank and the Croatian Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
International tender for the reconstruction of the take-off and landing strips was published on Friday, October 2nd 2015 while the contracts with the European Bank and Croatian Bank for Reconstruction and Development will be signed on Monday, October 5th.
Take off and landing strips will be reconstructed in phases over the next three years while the completion of all reconstruction wrks and expansions is expected by 2019.
