Record Year for Croatian Airports: 4.4 Million Passengers in First 7 Months

Total Croatia News

The skies over Croatia are getting busier – a record year so far, reports ExYuAviation on August 21, 2016.

One sign of how a tourist season is doing comes with the number of flights and passenger arrivals, and if this is taken as the barometer for the 2016 season, things are looking very good indeed.

We have already reported that Split became the first airport in Croatian history to handle more than half a million passengers in a single month, but this is just part of a major success story which has seen an impressive 4.4 million passengers transported through Croatia’s airports this year in the first seven months.

The busiest airport is Zagreb, followed by Split and Dubovnik, all of which have seen strong growth, with Split’s 17.9% increase over last year particularly impressive. The biggest increase (over 53%) was recorded on the island of Brac (albeit with relatively small numbers). For the full statistics and analysis, click here.
