Rijeka Port Records 20 Percent Increase in Cargo Transport

Luka Rijeka d.d. recorded a total turnover of 1.9 million tonnes, which is a 27 percent more than in the same period last year.

In the first nine months of this year, 9.4 million tonnes of cargo was transhipped in Rijeka port, which is 20 percent more than in the same period last year, while the transport of the bulk cargo has increased by 63 percent, reports Poslovni.hr on October 26, 2017.

When asked about the realized traffic, the Rijeka Port Authority states that the concessionaire Luka Rijeka d.d. recorded a total turnover of 1.9 million tonnes, which is a 27 percent increase. Transport of general cargo is down by 6 percent, container traffic has increased by 9 percent, while bulk cargo records 63 percent increase.

At the Container Terminal of the Concessionaire Jadranska vrata d.d., which carries the bulk of container traffic, the total turnover of about 1.5 million tonnes of cargo was recorded in the first nine months, which is 24 percent more than in the same period last year. Expressed in numbers; there were 157,577 containers transhipped, which is 15 percent more than last year.

The transport of liquid bulk cargoes, crude oil and refined petroleum products, in Rijeka port, i.e. Janaf d.d. terminals, has increased by 5.9 million tonnes, which is 16 percent more than in the same period last year.
