These are companies for which many in Croatia would like to work.

The leading human resources management consultancy SELECTIO has announced a list of businesses which have been best rated as part of an independent, comprehensive analysis of employee management systems needed for obtaining the prestigious Employer Partner Certificate, reports Poslovni.hr on June 13, 2017.

The human resource management experts assessed that the following companies are the best: Erste&Steiermärkische Bank, Pliva, Zagrebačka Pivovara, Coca-Cola HBC Croatia, Microsoft Croatia, and Sandoz.

In the certification process, Erste&Steiermärkische Bank, Pliva and Zagrebačka Pivovara achieved 98% of the total number of points available, while Coca-Cola HBC Croatia, Microsoft Hrvatska, and Sandoz achieved 97% of the total points, and were proudly recognised for their outstanding quality, comprehensiveness and transparency of employee management systems.

The Employer Partner Project was launched eleven years ago with the mission of promoting quality human resource management. So far, more than 80 companies have participated in it. The Employer Partner Certificate is an award given to companies by assessment of employee development practices in five main areas: strategy, recruitment and selection, performance management, training and development, and employee relationship.

The HR processes are evaluated by an independent three-member team composed of leading human resource experts. To meet the certification standards, a company must achieve at least 75% of the total possible points and at least 70% of the points in each of the five areas. The processes are evaluated according to the standards that represent the best international management practices for employees.

In 2016, SELECTIO significantly raised the standards for the Employer Partner Certificate and employee quality management assessment. Companies had to show that they had made a step forward in all of the 45 evaluated processes. According to the new standards, it was assessed how companies manage the organisational climate, how they recognise and develop talents, and what additional forms of reward and care programs they offer to employees.

The list of top employers has been published since 2008 and includes companies with the highest number of total points earned. At top companies, particular attention is paid to caring for employees, developing various programs to enhance their health, prevent stress and achieve a better balance between private and business life. Companies are increasingly offering their employees flexible work schedules, as well as numerous additional benefits such as medical exams, subsidised sports activities and healthy meals, and encourage volunteer activities for the good of the wider community. Such initiatives result in greater satisfaction, loyalty and employee engagement.

A sample of employees has shown that as many as 95% of them prefer companies that have the Employer Partner Certificate. The reason is that these are well-organised businesses that offer a fair and transparent system with more career development opportunities and better working environments.
