The new SPAR spans more than 2,000 square metres, has a garage boasting 69 parking spaces, and all customers are provided with free parking.
As Poslovni Dnevnik writes on the 5th of July, 2018, SPAR has opened a new supermarket at Zagreb’s Knežija today, which is otherwise the 109th SPAR store in the Republic of Croatia.
SPAR is continuing to expand its vast sales network, which directly promotes new employment, as well as positive changes in the retail industry, which then reflects positively by further stimulating Croatia’s domestic economy. With the opening of this brand new member of the ever-expanding SPAR family, sixty people found new employment positions.
“Up to 66 million kuna has been invested in Knežija’s new SPAR, and during the construction, the latest state-of-the-art standards and innovations in ecology and energy efficiency were taken into account. We’re proud of a modern and advanced heating system that saves energy and takes care of the environment,” stated Helmut Fenzl, CEO of SPAR Croatia.
The heating system is based on the complete use of the waste heat of the refrigeration system, and the cooling system itself uses only environmentally friendly working media. Throughout the heating season, more than fifty percent of the energy required for space heating is obtained through the use of waste energy, and waste heat is also used for the preparation of hot water. In addition to saving, the implemented system has an extremely positive environmental impact as it reduces carbon dioxide emissions that would otherwise be generated by heating.
Zagreb’s new SPAR store spans more than 2,000 square metres, boasts a large garage with 69 parking spaces, and all SPAR customers park for free. The store will be open to customers every day from Monday to Saturday from 07:00 to 20:00, and on Sundays from 08:00 to 21:00.
