Is Eastern Croatia in for an economic boost thanks to a massive investment from a big company located just over the border in Bosnia and Herzegovina?

As Poslovni Dnevnik writes on the 26th of October, 2018, the management of the TMD Group from Gradačac in neighbouring Bosnia and Herzegovina, which produces parts for the some of the world’s largest and most well-respected automotive companies, has also begun to expand its business over the border and into the Republic of Croatia, Glas Slavonije writes.

In cooperation with a German partner, the aforementioned company plans to construct a drive for the production of various parts for cars, trucks, and machines in Babina Greda, a village located in Vukovar-Srijem County in Eastern Croatia.

The company TMD Logistic is registered there, and that company will be the production and logistics centre for the entire TMD group, as well as for the needs of a strategic partner. The figures are promising, and as reports claim, this stands as an approximate ten million euros worth of investment, and the eventual production will be coordinated between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia.

In order to ensure the necessary staff for the plant in Babina Greda, a six-month-long training course at the TMD Group plant in Gradačac will be organised and the tender for employment has already been written up. Interested persons aged between 18 and 45 may apply and be admitted for the appropriate training.

After training is complete, employees will continue working at the factory in Gradačac until the production-logistic center in Babina Greda is ready for work to commence.
