During the plenary session at 10th World Medical Tourism & Healthcare Congress in Los Angeles, St. Catherine Hospital in Croatia, along with Cleveland Clinic in the USA, was awarded one of the world’s most prestigious accreditation.

This year’s annual 10th World Medical Tourism & Global Healthcare Congress held in Los Angeles from 2nd to 4th of October, 2017, organized by the Medical Tourism Association, brought together more than two thousand leading experts in the medical tourism industry. During the plenary session, the St. Catherine Specialty Hospital and one of America’s leading healthcare institutions, Cleveland Clinic, have been awarded one of the world’s most prestigious accreditations – the ‘Global Healthcare Accreditation (GHA)’. The significance of this news is best explained by the fact that along with St. Catherine Specialty Hospital and Cleveland Clinic only two other healthcare institutions in the world have received this accreditation. Thus, St. Catherine Hospital became the first European hospital to be awarded ‘Global Healthcare Accreditation’,  making it one of the world’s most prestigious healthcare institutions and thus placing the Croatian healthcare system on the world map.

Jadranka Primorac, Member of the Management Board of St. Catherine Hospital on this occasion said:

“The accreditation we have been awarded is proof that the St. Catherine hospital has a great international reputation and meets high clinical standards of excellence in providing healthcare services. The accreditation process has taught us many new strategies to improve day-to-day operational procedures that we apply in all business segments. We are proud to be the Global Healthcare Accreditation holder because it confirms our continuing commitment to provide top-notch service as well as the systematic patient safety of the highest international standard. Ultimately, this award demonstrates the high level of trust established between both local and foreign patients and our hospital.

Global Healthcare Accreditation (GHA) is intended for healthcare institutions that want to achieve excellence and superior quality in healthcare management processes, and ensure the continuity of safe and effective healthcare for patients in line with the requirements of the global medical tourism market. The aim of GHA is to enable each accredited institution to achieve best possible results in providing health services by monitoring day-to-day work processes. Receiving this prestigious accreditation is not only an achievement of operational excellence but also a clear indicator of successful business strategy.
