After the great success of last year’s premiere 3T conference – Tourism, Travel and Tech, Bug magazine is organizing the second edition on March 20, this time in the luxurious setting of the Boutique Cinema Kaptol in Zagreb
The conference will be opened with a keynote lecture named Travel Drivers Technology: New Apps Everywhere, to be held by the guest from Germany, Martin Reents, serial entrepreneur & CEO.
The panel discussion to follow will be moderated by Ivan Ilijašić from Orioly, and it is named “How to use technology to solve seasonality in tourism?” Seasonality is a known problem in Croatian tourism, and we should have begun pondering “overtourism” a while ago. How can technology extend the season and connect with tourists beyond the summer months? Which technology trends can help us already today? Which trends are in, which are just hype and how to set out introducing new trends in domestic tourism?
One of the lectures will focus on the implementation of the new Tourism Services Law, a problem for IT and tourism workers, to be held by Monika Udovičić, Assistant Tourism Minister for legal affairs and standards.
Other topics covered at the conference will be: tourism monetization of social networks, CRM in tourism industry, influencer marketing – how to build a brand consumers will recognize and recommend, mobile payment for the hotel industry, Instagram in tourism, digital nomads – work without a workplace, Croatian nautical tourism online, seasonality and technology, distributing your offer of tours, advertisement strategy via free tools (the program may change).
A presentation will also be held by the conference director, Oleg Maštruko, together with his partner in adventure, Saša Cvetojević – the two of them formed Team Tesla and returned from Africa recently as the first known crew to cross the Sahara in an electric vehicle, the Tesla X. The 3T conference sponsored this unique attempt, and will be the first place you can hear their experiences first hand.
“Organizing the first 3T conference last year was a sort of lottery, as we did not know what the reactions would be like,” said Oleg Maštruko, conference director. “Now, with a year of experience, we are aware that a meeting and networking place for the two most successful branches of the Croatian economy is more than necessary, and quite well received among visitors and companies. We are preparing an abundance of fresh and current content for the new edition, with more information to follow on the official web pages.”
According to relevant data, Croatia has the highest ratio of tourism in gross national product in the EU. Tourism is a matter of life for us, and the IT industry is the most active, propulsive and fastest growing branch in the past years. Can Croatia see a synergy of the two sectors?
