Fares will be 20% cheaper for all inner city rides.
Flat fares to and from Split, Zadar and Dubrovnik airport remain unchanged.
More good news for travellers on the Dalmatian coast, as Uber cuts prices on inner city rides in Zadar, Split and Dubrovnik. The press release in full:
Zagreb, October 19, 2016 – Uber is all about making sure people have a convenient, safe and affordable ride at the push of a button. The aim is to give even more people on the coast the option to leave their car at home and let Uber help them get where they need to be. In an effort to do just that, Uber fares in Zadar, Split and Dubrovnik will be even more affordable. Starting from today, all fares will be 20% cheaper for all existing and new users.
“We want to encourage locals on the coast to use Uber as a reliable and safe alternative. As we have seen in Zagreb, lowering the fares has increased the number of rides which, in turn generates more income for our partner-drivers. This way they can continue to make an income even in the tourist low-season” said general manager for Uber in South east Europe, Davor Tremac.
From today, the starting fare for all Uber rides will be 6 kuna, 4 kuna per kilometer and 0.45 kuna per minute. The price adjustment will begin as a trial programme that will be implemented for a period of one month. In the transition period partner-driver earnings will be guaranteed, after which an evaluation will take place. The aim is to offer a seamless transition to the new fare structure without Uber partner-drivers having to worry about making the same income.
What will not change, however, is the fixed fares to airports and other destinations around the coastal cities.
