Hotels in Dubrovnik and Poreč received World Luxury Hotel Awards 2016.
Two hotels from the Valamar Riviera tourist company, Dubrovnik President and Isabella Island Resorts from Poreč, have received a prestigious international award the World Luxury Hotel Award 2016, which means they belong to the ranks of some of the best luxury hotels in the world, announced Valamar on Wednesday, reports tportal.hr on November 2, 2016.
Both hotels were nominated for the first time for this award, which is in the global tourist industry considered as “Oscars for hotels”. In addition, the whole Valamar Hotels&Resorts Group received an award as the Best Hotel Group in Croatia and southern Europe in 2016.
These awards were this year awarded at a ceremony in Doha, and more than a thousand hotels were nominated. The decision was made together by online voting of hotel guests and by tourism professionals. The awards for luxury hotels and resorts from around the world were awarded in 60 categories, including the “main” award, Global Hotel of the Year, which was won by Armani Hotel Dubai.
“Valamar Dubrovnik President is a five-star hotel which was awarded in the category Luxury Beach Hotels, while Valamar Isabella Island Resort is a four and five stars facility which won the award in the Luxury Island Resorts category. The award for the whole group is also extremely important, especially because the award is based on votes from tourist professionals, as well as guests”, announced Valamar. The organizers said that Valamar hotels were characterized by high levels of quality of service in all segments, and commitment of all employees.
The World Luxury Hotel Awards are awarded by an organization which confirm quality of luxury hotels and are considered to be the pinnacle of achievement in the hotel industry. The winners of the award were, among others, some of the most luxurious hotels in the world, such as the Grand Hyatt Bali, Ritz Carlton in Hong Kong, and Burj Al Arab in the United Arab Emirates. Among Croatian hotels, the only one to receive this award until now was Esplanade Hotel in Zagreb (2011).
