Total Croatia News

German retail chains seem to attract the most attention.

The first place on the list of most desirable employers in Croatia belongs to dm-drogerie markt, second to Lidl Hrvatska, while Muller Trgovina Zagreb is in the third place, according to the poll of the most sought-after employers in Croatia in 2016. The research was conducted by MojPosao website and it included over 15,000 participants, reports agrobiz.hr on May 20, 2016.

This was also the first time that Rimac Automobili (9th place) and Kaufland Hrvatska (16th place) have joined the group of the 20 most attractive employers. Meanwhile, the companies that have taken the first two places have proven to be equally attractive to both men and women. As for the third place, for men it belongs to INA, while women have chosen Muller Trgovina Zagreb.

Most of the employed and unemployed persons would like to work for dm-drogerie markt, Lidl and Muller, while those who are still in school have selected Google Croatia as their second choice, and Microsoft Croatia as the third one.

As a crucial factor regarding the attractiveness of an employer the respondents have cited job security, while the next is workplace atmosphere and the third place belongs to the opportunity for professional advancement. The least important for the attractiveness of an employer, according to participants of the research, was an opportunity for advancement in the company hierarchy. The image of the company and the leadership of the sector have not proven to be especially relevant in this case.

The majority of the respondents would like to work in a private, foreign-owned company, followed by private, locally-owned firms. Croatian institutions and state-owned companies are in the third place, followed by foreign institutions. While the unemployed respondents would gladly work for private companies owned by Croatians, the employed people would rather choose a private, foreign-owned firm. Those respondents who are still in school believe that companies owned by the state are the ideal employers.

Currently, every fifth participant in the poll works for the employer of their first choice. On the other hand, as much as 90 percent of them are thinking about finding a new employer.
