September the 10th, 2024 – The Zagreb company INsig2 is set to educate cyber police from across the continent with a focus on digital forensics.
As Poslovni Dnevnik writes, the Zagreb company INsig2, which is among the leaders in providing services in the field of digital forensics, has once again confirmed its expertise and excellence by winning the public international tender of the European Commission’s Anti-Fraud Office (OLAF). The competition was won by a consortium led by INsig2, which also includes Ventex from Rijeka and TMD Travel, also from Zagreb.
The Zagreb company INsig2 has now signed a four-year contract worth 7 million euros with OLAF for the education of European investigators in the field of digital forensics, a project financed by the Union Anti-Fraud Programme (UAFP).
In this way, the Zagreb company INsig2 will once again organise and conduct educational training in the field of digital forensics and analytics for police investigators from EU Member States, as well as from other countries around the world where the EU finances various projects.
The training should start in November this year, and, much like before, about 120 investigators will participate in one training. The training sessions will be held in numerous European Union countries, and together with its partners, this Croatian company will be responsible for the complete equipment of the classrooms, the organisation of accommodation and the travel of the participants. In addition to that, the realisation of the training sessions themselves will be placed on their shoulders.
The training programme will cover a wide range of areas of digital forensics, including digital investigations of Windows, Mac and Linux computers, mobile and smart phones, network forensics, internet forensics, drone forensics, the analysis of encrypted data, the fundamentals of criminal-operational analytics, financial fraud analysis and prevention, big data analytics and open source intelligence.
“This is our third contract of this type. We received the first back in 2013, and the second in 2018,” said Goran Oparnica, director of the Zagreb company INsig2. “We’re extremely proud to have won this extremely demanding competition for the third time and signed a new four-year contract worth 7 million euros for the education of European investigators in the field of digital forensics and operational criminal analytics.”
Through two previous contracts, about two thousand investigators from about 50 countries participated in the training sessions.
“The education is carried out primarily by our employees – INsig2 experts from Croatia. For certain specific areas, we’ll also engage various experts from all over the world. Our dedication to excellence and the continuous improvement of the skills of our investigators is recognised and appreciated, which enables us to grow further,” added Oparnica.
Through the contracts concluded with OLAF, Croatia’s INsig2 has become a globally respected company. That status has enabled them to participate in extremely complex projects, both in equipping digital forensic laboratories and in their core activity – the education of police investigators.
