March the 23rd, 2020 – The official Decision on the prohibition of leaving your place of registered residence in the Republic of Croatia has now been passed, Interior Minister Davor Bozinovic has announced.

TCN brings you the full translation of the Government decision on new rules restricting movement of individuals as part of the strategy to contain COVID-19. You can see the original Croatian document, signed by Interior Minister Davor Bozinovic, below.

Given the fact that in certain individual areas there is a significant chance of the risk of the spread of COVID-19 (coronavirus), in order to lower the possibility of continued spread, it is now prohibited to leave your place of registered residence and permanent residence.

Prohibitions from point 1. of this Decision do not refer to:
a) The transportation and movement for the supplying of the stated areas (referring to shops which sell food, pharmacies etc)
b) The daily migration/travel of those employed in medical and veterinary services, the supply of medicine and other sanitary materials, those employed in the city communal services such as those [who deal with] water, gas, electricity, and security services;
c) Media reporting;
d) Residents who need immediate health care
e) Vital reasons, such as daycare for children and elderly people, to buy food and other necessities;
f) Transportations/journeys to work and from work if work needs to be carried out and cannot be done from home;
g) Emergency and operational services working to prevent the spread of COVID-19

Prior to entering and exiting the areas referred to in point 1. of this Decision it is obligatory to obey the following:
– Social distancing
– Not hanging around/staying in public areas
– Owning a valid pass/permit which can be found in Annex 1 of this Decision.

Permits allowing you to leave your place of registered residence or permanent residence are provided, verified and signed by:
– For situations from point II.a, II.b, II.c, II.f, and II.g, responsible legal persons
– For situations from point II.d [permits are provided by] a chosen family doctor
– For situations from point II.e, by the Civil Protection Headquarters

The Headquarters for Civil Protection and the Police Directorate are responsible for the implementation and the monitoring of the carrying out of the measures from this Decision.

This Decision comes into force on the day of its adoption and it will be published in the Official Gazette (Narodne Novine).

(TCN addition – PLEASE NOTE – for clarity, Place of Residence means town or city)
