Croatia Confirms 92 New Coronavirus Cases in Last 24 hours

ZAGREB, July 15, 2020 – In the past 24 hours, 92 new cases of infection with the COVID-19 coronavirus have been confirmed in Croatia, with the number of active cases increasing to 1,204, the national response team said on Wednesday.

“There have been 92 new cases in Croatia in the past 24 hours and the total number of people infected is 3,953,” the head of the Croatian Institute for Emergency Medicine, Maja Grba-Bujevic, told a press conference.

There are 1,204 active cases and 2,639 people have recovered.

To date, a total of 97,724 people have been tested for the virus, including 1,804 in the past 24 hours. Currently there are 132 people being treated in hospitals and five of them are on ventilators.

No new deaths have occurred and the death toll stands at 120. A total of 5,002 people are in self-isolation, there are 83 active cases among health workers, and 498 health workers are currently in self-isolation.

The head of the Croatian Institute of Public Health (HZJZ), Krunoslav Capak, said that although today’s number of new cases is higher than yesterday’s, there are no new clusters but that these are contacts of already identified cases and a family in Karlovac County.
