September the 4th, 2026 – The value of fiscalised receipts and invoices was up by 17% in August across Croatia. This was specifically in the provision of accommodation and food prep.
Poslovni reports that in addition to the aforementioned, 274.6 million invoices were issued in total last month, which is 8.9 million or 3.3 percent more than a year earlier. The value of fiscalised invoices rose strongly in August, while the growth in their number was considerably more moderate. Across all activities covered by the fiscalisation system, the value of issued invoices reached 6.56 billion euros, which is 17 percent or 955.3 million euros more than in the same month last year, according to data from the Tax Administration.
At the same time, 274.6 million invoices were issued last month, 8.9 million or 3.3 percent more than a year earlier. The data thus show that the average value of invoices grew noticeably faster than their number. The largest share of turnover relates to wholesale and retail trade and the repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles. In that activity, 169.9 million invoices were fiscalised, 2.6 percent or 4.25 million more than last year, while their value increased by 7.8 percent, or 258.1 million euros, to 3.56 billion euros.
In hospitality and tourism, i.e. the activity of providing accommodation and the preparation and serving of food, the number of fiscalised invoices rose by six percent to 65.7 million euros. Their value at the same time increased by 10.3 percent or 164.5 million euros, reaching 1.8 billion euros. The data refer to the period from the 1st to the 31st of August 2026 and cover all activities included in the Tax Administration’s fiscalisation system.
