September the 1st, 2026 – The 35 million euro Croatian Football Federation camp in Velika Gorica not far from Zagreb is progressing well and according to plan.
The construction of the new Croatian Football Federation (HNS) camp in Velika Gorica is progressing according to plan, and the project worth more than 35 million euros is taking its final shape. It will be the new base for Croatia’s national teams and one of the most important football projects in Croatia. Poslovni reports that the camp is being built on land covering 92,206 square metres, which the state donated to the HNS after the administration in Velika Gorica re-designated the area as a sports and recreation zone. The government is investing 15 million euros in the project, while it is also being financed with the help of the HNS, UEFA and FIFA.
The new complex will boast four football pitches. The central one will have a covered stand with around 1,500 seats, while the remaining three are intended for training. Two will have natural grass and one artificial turf. A particularly important part of the project will be the modern HNS business building, into which the Federation’s administration will move. In this way the HNS will for the first time have business and sports facilities combined at one location.
The camp will also have changing rooms for all age categories, restaurants and a kitchen, spaces for coaching staff, analysis and the media. In the second phase the possibility has been left for the construction of a multi-purpose sports hall, gym, wellness centre and medical centre for players’ recovery. The new complex will not be intended only for the senior national team. Younger men’s and women’s national teams as well as futsal selections will also prepare there, and the space will also serve for the education and licensing of coaches and referees. Works should be completed and the camp put into operation by the summer of 2027.
