April the 2nd, 2025 – The 3rd Croatian scrambled eggs festival (Kajgana) in a village of the exact same name is scheduled for the 6th of April.
As Menu.hr writes, the 3rd Croatian scrambled eggs festival in the village of Kajgana is scheduled to take place on April the 6th, 2025. Kajgana is located in Garešnica, and the very unique gastronomic and tourist event “Kajgana u Kajgani” has become popular nationwide.
Kajgana means scrambled eggs, and there are few better places to host a festival dedicated to them than a village with the same name. The 3rd Croatian scrambled eggs festival will see competitors go head to head (or egg to egg) by preparing scrambled eggs in their own unique ways. This year, the organiser of the festival is the Oldtimer Club Kurbla from Garešnica with the support of the Northern Moslavina Tourist Board and Garešnica’s local administration.
The competition will be held in the local community centre in Kajgana, and the gathering of the cooking teams is scheduled for 11:00. The teams will each consist of two members, and each will be provided with eggs and bread. The remaining ingredients and dishes must be brought by themselves according to their own recipes. Each team must then prepare scrambled eggs using exactly five eggs, and must also have a recipe with the precise quantities of the necessary ingredients and a description of the preparation. If two or more teams win the same number of points, the winner will be decided through a tiebreaker.
