January the 29th, 2026 – A ferry line linking Dubrovnik with Kotor and Budva in neighbouring Montenegro is set to launch in summer 2026.
As Sinisa Malus/Poslovni Dnevnik writes, the Budva-Dubrovnik and Kotor-Dubrovnik maritime lines will be re-established during the upcoming summer tourist season. The ferry linking Dubrovnik with both Kotor and Budva will start operating on June the 1st, as was recently announced Montenegrin Maritime Minister Filip Radulović, adding that the route will last until the end of September this year.
The Montenegrin Maritime Ministry has stated that it will gladly continue its cooperation with the renowned Croatian carrier Kompas, which ensures the continuity and quality of maritime traffic between Montenegro and Croatia. He also announced the intensification of ferries operating on one of the lines.
“In the peak of the tourist season during the months of July and August, the Budva-Dubrovnik ferry line will operate six times a week, which is twice as many departures as last year, while the Kotor-Dubrovnik line will operate three times a week,” revealed Minister Radulović.
The continuation of the ferry line linking Dubrovnik with both Kotor and Budva is also the result of increased passenger interest in both routes, which was particularly noticeable last summer. These are primarily day trippers.
According to the aforementioned minister, intensive work is being carried out on strengthening the maritime network between Montenegro and the countries of the wider region, all with the aim of improving the tourist offer and stimulating the growth of the local economy. The hope is that this will directly contribute to the overall development of the Montenegrin economy.
