A final decision for the construction of Pelješac Bridge has been reached.

As Poslovni Dnevnik writes on the 12th of January, 2018, Croatian Roads (Hrvatske Ceste) have finally announced that the long awaited Pelješac Bridge will be constructed by a Chinese consortium led by the China Road and Bridge Corporation, which offered 2.08 billion kuna for the job, according to a report by Vecernji List.

The other two bids for the construction of this bridge were sent in by Italian Astaldi and Turkish Ictas, who offered to build the bridge for 2.55 billion kuna, while Strabag sought 2.62 billion kuna for the job.

The Italian-Turkish bid was rejected due to an invalid bank guarantee. And in the end, as the most economically advantageous and cheapest choice, the Chinese bid was accepted.

Companies whose bids haven’t been selected still have the right to appeal.

Offers for the construction of the Pelješac Bridge were opened on September the 15th last year and Croatian Roads had 120 days to make a decision on the selection.
