December the 15th, 2025 – The Financial Times has ranked the Croatian company Spegra as being among Europe’s most successful.

As Poslovni Dnevnik writes, the Financial Times has ranked the Croatian company Spegra in 76th place overall and a very impressive 7th place in the Construction & Engineering category.

The Split-based construction company Spegra has once again been included in the list of 300 European companies with the highest long-term growth, according to the Financial Times, as reported by tportal. Long-term growth of 39.68% placed Spegra in 76th place overall on the list and among the most successful in the Construction & Engineering sector, where it was, as touched on above, ranked in a high 7th place.

This is otherwise the second time that the Financial Times has ranked Spegra on this highly competitive list, where it was also listed last year, but in 144th place. It’s also worth noting that the high-achieving Spegra is once again the only Croatian company on this entire list.

Spegra has specialised closely in construction renovations for the past 36 years and, owing to its long tradition, accumulated plenty of knowledge, developed technological processes and enjoyed good management. It is also one of the strongest pioneers in this specific construction niche, not only in Croatia, but also in the far wider European sense. In the last few years alone, Spegra has recorded significant and stable business growth, which has been recognised both nationwide and indeed worldwide.

The company’s director and founder, Berislav Borovina, received the Financial Times plaque and stated the following: “Every professional recognition is an enormous compliment to us. In construction, we’ve won all the awards and enjoyed all the recognition, and being on the Financial Times’ list again is confirmation that we’re managing the economic part well. I’m proud that a Croatian company can be shoulder to shoulder with the leaders of European growth. I’m especially grateful to our employees, almost 300 of them, because each of them has incorporated their work into this recognition in their own way, and equally to all our partners and associates. This news makes me especially happy in the context of the fact that, after almost four decades of successful work, some individuals still question our expertise. As always, our work and achievements and professional recognition are the best answer,” emphasised Borovina.

Spegra has hundreds of successfully completed building renovations under its belt, starting with road infrastructure, bridges and viaducts, cultural heritage, commercial buildings, and more. Among them all, the monastery and church of St. Francis on Kaptol in Zagreb and the Adriatic Bridge (Jadranski most) have stood out in recent years. The company is currently carrying out an extremely demanding renovation of the Zagreb Cathedral and the Meštrović Pavilion in Zagreb.

“We have the knowledge, the most advanced equipment and some fantastic professionals, from engineers to stonemasons. Awards are always welcome, and we’re always very pleased with a job well done. From day one, we’ve been working so that long-lasting and resistant buildings are left behind as our biggest advertisement. We continue to work just as professionally, with an emphasis on stable growth and believing that quality and vision will always be recognised,” concluded Borovina.
