Stepped on an urchin, been lying in the sun too long or slipped on a rock? Never fear!
The goal is to help tourists quickly and efficiently deal with minor injuries, inflammation, lacerations, and the like.
As Poslovni Dnevnik writes on the 19th of June, 2018, in a sea of newly opened tourism and hospitality facilities, galleries and apartments in Istria’s beautiful Rovinj, where the number of inhabitants is quadrupled during the summer months owing to the influx of visitors wanting to experience the Istrian gem, some good news arrives in the rather unlikely form of a hospital. The very first private tourist clinic in Croatia (Privatna turistička ordinacija – Dr. Berković) has now been opened, according to a report from the Istria based portal Glas Istre.
”The tourist clinic provides all the services that patients would receive from a general practitioner. It’s primarily intended for visitors. The goal is to help tourists quickly and efficiently deal with minor injuries, inflammation, lacerations and the like. On the other hand, I’m sure that we’ll also reduce the pressure on our emergency teams during the summer months, who have teams who literally drive at the fifth rate to meet all the needs and provide all the services,” stated the founder of the clinic, Karlo Štoković.
The working hours of the office located at Lokva square (Trg na Lokvi) near the taxi stand and the bus station are from 10:00 to 22:00, and according to Štoković, the clinic will remain open until the beginning of October, which otherwise typically marks the end of the accepted summer tourist season.
The newly opened emergency clinic will deal with the provisions of basic health care Rovinj’s tourists, but also for all others who happen to be in Rovinj. Rovinj locals can seek help if they want it, but the service comes with a charge, the price of a consultation is 250 kuna.
