On July 28, multiple taxi drivers were intercepted and physically assaulted in Dubrovnik, on their way back from the protest against Uber. One of them was seriously injured, two of them ended up with minor injuries. They all received medical treatment and were released, apart from one man who is still being treated in a hospital.
The police carried out a criminal investigation and identified the culprits, reports Dubrovački dnevnik on July 31, 2017. On Sunday, a 21-year-old individual was arrested in Split and taken into custody at the Police Department of Dubrovnik-Neretva County. Criminal charges were filed against him, as well as against another 21-year-old, two 22-year-olds and one perpetrator aged 29, all of them charged for assault.
Other perpetrators haven’t yet been located.
