The first two days of December in Osijek were devoted to the WineOS festival held in the Esseker Centre and organised by the Vinita wine store, together with associations Dekanter and Graševina Croatica. The festival was preceded by a rating of wine and kulen sausage combinations named the WineOS Trophy, held on November 20 at the local Croatian Chamber of Economy, as well as the WineOS gala dinner held 10 days later in the Museum of Taste restaurant. It was led by the renowned gastro-sommelier team composed of seven top notch local restaurants. Both festival days had numerous workshops.
Friday’s programme was reserved for workshops “Kulen and wine – presentation of combinations rating,” “Overview of 2017 harvest in Slavonia and Croatian Danube,” “Are you certain you know everything about Graševina?,” “Prokupac – from ugly duckling to global wine,” “Wines which marked the first 25 years of my winery – Vlado Krauthaker” and “Slavko Kalazić – how I grew along with my wines.” Saturday allowed for “Cabernet Franc – the biggest brand of Villany,” “The great wine return of Dalmatian hinterland – Trnjak, Kujundžuša, Zlatarica, Plavka,” “Graševina form the Croatian south,” Kadarka – wine for Michelin restaurants,” “Enjingi – Graševina vertical” and “Bosnian miracle! How Istrian Malvazija found a new home in Žepče.”
Slavonian wineries present were Apostol and Misna Vina from Trnava, Antunović Wines from Dalj, Bartolović from Požega, Feravino from Feričanci, Krauthaker, Mihalj, Perak, Sontacchi and Kutjevo from Kutjevo, Brzica, Siber and Erdut vineyards from Erdut, Markota from Pleternica, OPG Matković and Orahovica from Orahovica.
Baranja wines were presented by Kolar and Pinkert from Suza, Gerštmajer, Josić and Kalazić from Zmajevac, as well as Belje. The Srijem wine region was represented by Krešić Cellars from Šarengrad and wineries Buhač, Papak, TRS and Ilok Cellars from Ilok.
Well represented were also wineries from Dalmatia and Istria. Notable ones include Đuzel Wines and Jerković winery from Imotski, Volarević Vineyards from Metković, Grabovac Winery from Proložac Donji and Gašpar Wines from Vrgorac. Istria and Kvarner were represented by OPG Leonardo Palčić and Pervino from Novigrad, Deklić Wines from Vižinada, Dobrinčić and Gospoja from Vrbnik, Božo Metković from Molunat, Zigante from Grožnjan and Coslovich from Oprtalj.
Attending from Bosnia-Herzegovina was the Povratak winery from Žepče and the Stobi winery from Macedonia. Taking part were also Vojvodina wineries Erdevk, Mačkov podrum, Vinum and Zvonko Bogdan. Hungarian representatives included wineries Bock pince, Gere Attila pincészete and Gere Tamás és Zsolt pincészete from Villány, and Vylyan pincészet from Kisharsány.
Delicacies were presented by OPG Đurković from Marjančac and OPG Božidar Glavaš with their excellent cheeses. Kulen sausages were offered by OPG Dobrovac from Kneževi Vinogradi and the Đakovački Kulin association.
