Excellent news for those driving on Croatia’s roads!
As Poslovni Dnevnik reports on the 29th of September, 2017, from Sunday the 1st of October to the 30th of June, 2018, lower toll prices will be in place on highways run by Croatian Motorways (HAC) and Rijeka – Zagreb Motorway (ARZ), as announced on Friday from HAC.
The price per kilometer for motorcycles and passenger cars on motorways under the management of HAC and ARZ was increased by 10% from the 1st of July to the 30th of September, so for example, the toll fee from Zagreb to Split was 200 kuna, and from Zagreb to Rijeka – 77 kuna.
These prices will return to their ”out of season” costs as of the 1st of October, meaning the cost for the Zagreb – Split route will be 181 kuna as opposed to 200 kuna, and Zagreb – Rijeka, 70 kuna, as opposed to 77 kuna.
Highway travel from Zagreb to Goričan (Medjimurje) will cost 44 kuna (47 kuna during the season), and the toll on the Zagreb – Lipovac route will drop by 13 kuna to 128 kuna.
The fee from Zagreb to Osijek will also fall by 13 kuna, meaning the out of season fee will be 122 kuna. Zagreb to Ploče will drop by 25 kuna, to 231 kuna.
Off season prices for motorway driving from Zagreb to Karlovac should be 19 kuna (two kuna less than in summer), and 10 kuna from Mraclin (Velika Gorica) to Lekenik (Sisak-Moslavina), which is one kuna less than the summer price.
The price of crossing the Krka bridge will drop from 39 to 35 kuna for cars. For buses, trucks and campers, the toll prices are the same all year round.
Seasonal toll increases during periods of intensified traffic intensity, more specifically during summer in Croatia’s case, is one of the measures taken to financially restructure companies in the road sector. Revenue from the toll rose by 13.6% when compared to the previous year.
