ULTRA Europe takes place in Split from July 14-16, 2017, at Poljud Stadium.

As most of us know by now, the ULTRA Europe music festival will take place in Split this weekend. The city, which is full of tourists from all over the world, is packed to the brim, and avoiding any type of incident at this point sounds highly unlikely.

Unfortunately, the ULTRA weekend is already off to a rocky start as we follow the arrest of a 34-year-old man from Australia who has left a 27-year-old Croatian man with serious head injuries, reports the Herald Sun and Daily Mail on July 14, 2017.

The Aussie and the Croat were allegedly involved in a fight near Obala Kneza Domagoja on Thursday night around 1 am which left the Croat with life-threatening injuries. The Croat was quickly taken to KBC Hospital for treatment.

The Australian was taken into custody following the brawl.

The names of both men have not been released.

The 34-year-old Australian, whose name is confirmed as A.H.C. Kirckman, had 2 g / kg of alcohol in his blood. The incident occurred in front of a popular nightclub by the Green Market, reports Slobodna Dalmacija on July 14, 2017.

According to information from KBC Hospital Split, the injured young man (who is originally from Bosnia and currently lives in Vienna) was transferred to the Intensive Care Unit at the Department of Neurosurgery. He was admitted to ICU because he was bleeding on the surface of his brain. During the fight, he received a blow to the head that had cracked skull.

According to unofficial sources, his life is no longer in danger. He is said to be recovering and is already communicating with the hospital staff.
