February the 10th, 2023 – Forbes has listed the gorgeous island of Hvar as a “must visit” destination this year.

As Poslovni Dnevnik writes, the well respected “Forbes” magazine published a list of islands that they consider to be “must visit” destinations in 2024, and the Croatian island of Hvar was in first place, as reported by B92.

The magazine highlights the Central Dalmatian island of Hvar as the number one island you must visit this year.

“Hvar, located in the Adriatic Sea, took ninth place in the 2023 CNTraveler Readers’ Choice awards for the best European island, and it’s easy to understand why. Hvar is the best choice for travellers who want to find something that suits everyone,” they wrote.

They also pointed out that the island of Hvar has great restaurants and nightlife, as well as rustic vineyards and lavender fields for those who like a quieter sort of holiday.

In second place are the Outer Hebrides, an archipelago located northwest of the coast of Scotland. Third is the volcanic island of Stromboli in Italy, located in the Tyrrhenian Sea. In fourth place was taken by the island of Heimaey in Iceland.

We don’t doubt this island’s beauty, but we will admit that it is overdone. There are endless Croatian islands, both inhabited and uninhabited, and Hvar is just one of them. If you’d like to explore further afield, why not pick an island that most suits your desires? Click here for more.
