February the 12th, 2026 – A 17.6 million euro investment is on the cards for health tourism in continental Croatia, more specifically in the already popular Stubičke Toplice.
As Poslovni Dnevnik writes, Tourism Minister Tonči Glavina recently visited the construction works of the swimming pool and hotel of the Stubičke Toplice Special Hospital. This is an incredible 17.6 million euro investment in health tourism in continental Croatia and one of the largest investments in the development of year-round health tourism in that part of the country. The project was co-financed with 16.5 million euros, as part of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan.
“This is an integral part of the large investment network that we’re currently implementing in Croatian tourism, amounting to 350 million euros,” revealed Glavina. He added that eighteen different projects carrying a total value of more than 130 million euros are being co-financed in the five northern counties, which, he noted, is crucial for the development of year-round and more evenly distributed tourism.
He announced that future investment plans within the new multi-annual financial framework will also take into account that health tourism projects are one of the priorities. “Health tourism is one of the tourism products that doesn’t have a time component related to it. It’s a year-round tourism product, and such investments will guarantee that Croatia becomes what we want it to be, which is one of the highest quality and most sustainable destinations in the whole world,” said the minister.
Krapina-Zagorje County Prefect Željko Kolar made sure to add that the project being carried out in Stubičke Toplice was planned back in 2019 and that the grants enabled a much faster implementation. “By June of this year, we’ll have finished the works and will have a new four-star hotel, 36 rooms, two apartments, a new kitchen, a new restaurant, bars, a new wellness centre and a new spa,” said Kolar. According to him, this will significantly increase the tourism competitiveness of Stubičke Toplice and the entire county.
