July the 2nd, 2025 – Investments for both Samobor and the wider Zagreb area are on the cards, with the second phase of the Sambor RC Zone planned for 2026.
The initial, impressive phase of the largest Croatian logistics and distribution centre was finally completed last month, with the facility opening its doors. Five tenants will utilise the ample 43,000 square metres of space in the Bobovica business zone for their logistics needs. The total value of the project stands at a staggering 100 million euros, and the Czech RC Europe group is behind it all. The second phase of this giant investment is now on the horizon.
As Ana Roksandic/Poslovni Dnevnik writes, the extensive works on the second phase of the Samobor RC Zone have already begun, and the opening is currently scheduled for the third quarter of 2026. The second part of this massive facility will see this complex eventually span 86 thousand square metres. That’s just one of the investments currently planned for Samobor and the Zagreb area.
“Our target tenants are companies from the fields of 3PL and logistics, fast-moving consumer goods and retail, as well as the light industry and manufacturing sectors. Some preliminary contracts and letters of intent have already been signed,” they revealed from the brand new Samobor RC Zone.
The total investment in the second phase totals 40 million euros, and the project is being financed from the company’s own funds with support from the banking sector. RC Europe is otherwise a Czech investment and development company that is already developing new projects around Zagreb, with the primary goal of constructing larger logistics parks.
“This part of Croatia is at a crossroads of pan-European transport corridors. It therefore offers significant potential for the development of additional A+ warehouse capacities. We believe in what we do, we carefully listen to the needs of our clients and we make sure we deliver on our promises,” they stated from RC Europe, who, as stated, are planning for further investments not only in Samobor but in the wider Zagreb area.
Part of this multi-million euro investment will also focus on the sustainability and energy efficiency of the new part of the complex, which has already received an A+ energy certificate.
“The new phase also includes a DALI lighting system, photovoltaic panels on the roof, charging stations for electric vehicles, heat pumps, skylights for natural lighting and compliance with the ESG taxonomy. All of this is aimed at reducing energy consumption and CO2 emissions,” they concluded from RC Europe.
