The parking is cheaper since drivers do not have to use a mobile text messaging (SMS) protocol.
Since mid-April when it was first released, the PayDo mobile application for parking payment in Croatia has expanded to 19 towns, reports Poslovni.hr on July 25, 2018.
The first group of towns where the app became available were Split, Zadar, Šibenik, Pula, Poreč, Rovinj and Osijek, followed by Dubrovnik, Novi Vinodolski, Crikvenica, Vodice, Vodnjan, Bjelovar, Samobor, Sisak, Slavonski Brod, Karlovac, Varaždin and Vukovar.
Infoart, an IT company specialising in mobile payment solutions, says that its PayDo service will soon reach other towns as well, and their main goal is Zagreb.
The expansion has been helped by the fact that they have offered a very convenient parking tool. It provides savings because it does not use the mobile text messaging (SMS) protocol, so there are no costs paid to mobile phone network operators.
Payment is done exclusively via the mobile and web application which is free of charge. In collaboration with Mastercard, Infoart has also provided users with an option that 10% of the paid amount for hourly parking can be returned to their promotional accounts, which drivers can use for parking payments in the future.
“Until now, SMS payment has not been available to certain categories of business and private users and tourists in Croatia, and the only solution for them was to search for parking payment devices. Now all users of the app can pay for their parking without any additional fees,” says Borivoj Sirovica, the managing director of Infoart, who admits that the main target market for their app is millions of tourists who visit Croatia during the peak tourist season.
