Diva Style Dolls at Arena Zagreb until October 11

Some of Croatia’s best fashion designers came together to create one of the most unusual and breathtaking exhibitions we’ve seen in quite a while. Diva Style Dolls exhibition was opened with a glamorous party at the Art Pavilion in Zagreb on Friday, and as of October 4th 2015, you can see it at the Arena Centre. Exhibition presents 20 unique dolls, all created by the world renowned doll maker Patricio Alejandro Aguero, born in Venezuela and now with permanent address in Zagreb.

Since Patricio’s dolls were inspired by fashion, Viktor Drago, executive director of Cro-a-Porter and mover and shaker in the Croatian fashion industry, came up wth the idea to pair these exquisit dolls with Croatian designers, and the exhibition was the result of their collaboration. Dolls are dressed in designs created by Juraj Zigman, Elfs, Robert Sever, Aleksandra Dojčinović, Ivan Alduk, Matija Vujica, Envy Room, Hippy Garden,Arielo, Lokomotiva, Boudoir, Boris Pavlin,  Xenia Dizajn, Twins, Klisab, Anthony Avangard, Nebo, Etna Maar, Jelena Holec, Sonja Lamut and Tomislav Bahorić.

Viktor Drago was extremely pleased with the interest of the designers and the fact that everyone wanted to be involved, from the new names to the ones that have been on the fashion scene for decades: “I think these dolls are a perfect representation of the essence of each designer, every single one of them tells a different story” he added.

Exhibition also has a charity note, all dolls are on sale and all the proceeds are going to the Europe Donna Croatia association to help their efforts in raising the awareness about breast cancer.

Diva Style Dolls is supported by Diva magazine, Zagreb Tourist board and the City of Zagreb, and from what we hear from Viktor Drago, they are currently trying to find a suitable place for the exhibition in Split, so we’ll keep you posted on any new developments. Until then, make sure you see it at the Arena Centre in Zagreb until October 11th.
