Hajduk Within Point of Dinamo After Convincing Win, Kalinic Breaks Record

Total Croatia News

Another convining display from Hajduk against Istra 1961, as goalkeeper Kalinic breaks a record.

All smiles at the Poljud Stadium in Split on October 4, 2015, as Hajduk Split continued their impressive recent run with a first half demotion of visitors Istra 1961.

The win takes Hajduk to within a point of leaders Dinamo Zagreb, who dropped points yesterday in a 2-2 draw with Inter.

Hajduk’s dominated from the early stages, and all three goals came in the first half, scored by Gojković (own goal) on 8 minutes, Jefferson de Jesus Santos on 10 minutes, and a Mijo Caktaš penalty on the half hour.

While the focus might have been on the Istrian goal, it was at the other end that a record was broken in the first have, with Hajduk keeper Lovre Kalinic beating Danijel Subašić’s record of not conceding a goal. The record had stood at 548 minutes, and it has now been extended with yet another clean sheet for Hajduk.
