Agrolaguna and Belje took part in a fair in Berlin.
Belje and Agrolaguna participated for the first time in the International Green Week (Grüne Woche), which took place from 20 to 29 January in Berlin. This unique international trade fair for food, agriculture and horticulture, focuses on authentic local and traditional products from all over Europe. Every year, the fair is visited by more than 400,000 people, reports Večernji List on January 30, 2017.
Belje participated in the fair with Baranja kulen and Belje wines, while Agrolaguna presented its Špin cheeses and Ol Istria olive oils. All these products represent authentic flavours of Croatian. Baranja kulen is one of few Croatian products with protected geographical indications and represents the gastronomic culture and tradition of Croatia, just like Istria is represented by extra virgin oils produced by Agrolaguna. Many visitors from all over the world also had an opportunity to taste the exquisite flavours of Croatian wines.
Marko Žeravica, export manager of Belje, explained the reason why his company participated in the fair. “Participation in such a world famous fair is an opportunity to present to international markets our premium authentic products such as Baranja kulen and Croatian wines. Given that this fair brings together the world’s leading producers of traditional products and combines the old and the new, we have recognize it as an ideal venue for the presentation of a part of the Croatian culinary heritage. We believe that the visitors have enjoyed tasting of our products, and that we have raised interest among German consumers about Baranja sausage and the wines.”
“The fair was very interesting for us, and the visitors have shown great interest for our products, especially for wines, which many already know about considering that Germany is the third largest export market for Agrolaguna, with an annual exports of 65,000 litres of wine. Since Istria has been a favourite destination of many German tourists for years, visitors were also interested in Istrian cheeses and extra virgin olive oil”, said Mario Krajina, representative of Agrolaguna.
