A major step forward for Gideon Brothers.

Gideon Brothers, a startup with offices in Zagreb and Osijek, has won the Founders Factory AI Rising Star Award in London, a competition featuring 150 companies involved in the field of artificial intelligence, reports tportal.hr on June 15, 2018.

Matija Kopić, the head of Gideon Brothers, presented in London “The Brain”, a system which uses artificial intelligence technology to turn manual machines into autonomous robots.

“We currently have a large number of machines which require someone to manage them – and these are people who simply do not exist in large enough numbers,” said Kopić. “For far too long, the logistics sector and other industries are struggling to hire enough people to be able to continue their growth. Now, they will no longer have to do that. Robots will not replace people – they will only expand what we are able to achieve,” he added.

Gideon Brothers develops autonomous, collaborative and modular robotic platforms for unstructured closed spaces where people spend their time, as well as autonomous technologies for various industries. It is one of the largest companies specializing in robotics in Southeast Europe.

“Compared to Germany, Switzerland, the United States of America, Japan or China, we are at a lower level of technological development. However, when you look at robotics, artificial intelligence, that is all quite new. Everyone knows about it and that they have to focus on it, but they do not know how to do it. That is why they are interested in a team coming from Croatia and explaining that how the future will look like, how we can create it. We help them solve a major problem because they are afraid they will disappear within five years due to strong competition,” said Gideon Brothers representatives.
