Elda expands to Germany and beyond.
Elda, a company from Nova Gradiška, and Europe’s largest manufacturer of liquid for electronic cigarettes, has recently opened a branch office in Stuttgart, reports Večernji List on March 19, 2016.
The distribution from this successful small company currently covers four percent of the German market, and they expect to quadruple that share. Elda is currently finishing its work on a modern laboratory for the certification of the liquid and cigarettes. Three Elda employees, who work in the area of sales and representation, will now also perform certification services.
“We want to strengthen our influence in Germany, a strong and attractive market, where we already export about 10 percent of its production. Soon, we plan to open offices in India and the United States”, said Dario Marenić, the company owner. The Nova Gradiška-based company has recently signed an important strategic agreement with Shimadzu, a Japanese partner company, on equipping the new laboratory. The facility will be certified in accordance with the European criteria for quality control.
It will also become the first laboratory of its kind in Europe, closely specialized for electronic cigarettes and e-liquids, and its opening is expected in August. Elda has last year produced about two million bottles of e-liquid, of which almost 97 percent was for the export markets. This year, they expect total revenue of more than two million euros, which is about 30 percent more than last year, with 5 million kuna in net profits. The number of employees should increase from current 34 to more than 40 by the end of the year.
Elda points out it is the first registered European company to manufacture e-liquid for filling electronic cigarettes. “We only work with high quality EU ingredients and the largest distributors of pharmaceutical grade nicotine in the world”, the company says on its website, adding that the production is eco-friendly.
