Croatian electro-pop musician Dani’el releases album, his first for the British label Dita Entertainment, titled “The Soul Has No Gender.”

Danijel Majcen, a clarinet professor from Varaždin and a musical visionary, has been working on his international musical career for years, expanding the limits of his musical style and adopting bold ideas through his work. For this album, he takes on the new personality, Belteshazzar, and it took him two full years to complete the work, which includes nine brand-new songs, seven videos and numerous photos and other digital images (all available at the same time).

On his website, the following explanation is given: “Album has seven videos which show an individual struggling inside to define their own identity. Dani’el, in this case Belteshazzar, whom you’ll see in this video and the upcoming videos, serves as a leitmotif in the fight against belonging to one national identity and religion. In this case, I add gender identity as socially and culturally defined roles of men and women, and examine the fluidity of human sexuality, which isn’t consistent”.

For his previous work, most notably “The Book” trilogy, Dani’el has hired producers to help him. Not this time, though: he found the courage to do the musical producing on his own, as well as direct the videos for the songs.

You can follow Dani’el’s work online, on various platforms: on most digital musical platforms, on Dani’el’s BandCamp account, Youtube channel has all of the videos, there are Twitter and Instagram accounts, where you can also follow Dani’el’s pet pig.
