Vyoocam has already presented its product to the American market.
Vyoocam is a hardware start-up that is developing a camera to transmit video over the internet which can easily be attached to any glasses that users already have, reports Poslovni.hr on November 11, 2016.
According to Irena Živković, a member of the team, the idea was to make a camera that will function as the third option for a camera in all those applications that already use the front or rear camera built into mobile devices. It is an ideal solution for transmission of video over the internet during which your hands and your mobile device are free.
The team consists of six members, and the founders are Vedran Vukman, Mirza Muftić and Vedran Papeš. They launched the project in June last year when they received an initial investment for the development of an innovative project that will be competitive in the international market. That same year, with their first prototype they won the IdeaKnockout competition, and in January of this year they were given an opportunity to participate at the CES fair in Las Vegas.
“We decided to return to Croatia and open an office here to further develop the Vyoocam camera. After we created the first prototypes and saw that there was great interest for our product, we started the development of the final product ready for mass production and sales. In the past year, the team has expanded from three members to six, and we were able to sign contracts with 12 major companies, including CISCO,” said Živković. Companies from the United States were first to show interest in the device because it offers the opportunity to significantly reduce costs by using live video.
However, their ultimate goal is to build their brand and achieve successful sales in the global markets, first in the area of the European Union, and then beyond. This start-up is currently taking part in the ABC accelerator in Ljubljana in Slovenia, which offered them an initial investment, co-working space, and a demo day in January in Munich in front of a large number of investors.
“Our biggest asset are the team members, experience and an innovative product created on the basis of this experience, and we are also helped by trends in the IT market. Although everybody said it was impossible, we had the courage to launch this business venture from Croatia. We expect that we will soon start with the international sales”, concluded Živković.
