Another success for Croatian developers.
Meridda, the latest project of the Croatian startup company Studio Rebus, won in mid-November the award for the best health startup at a prestigious European competition Startup Europe Awards Croatia, which was organized with the support of the European Commission, as part of the Startup Europe initiative. As the winning project, Meridda will be presented at the largest startup competition Startup Europe Awards, which will be held in early 2017 in Brussels, reports Poslovni.hr on November 29, 2016.
The Meridda project includes hardware and software solutions for measurement and remediation of negative effects of stress. It consists of a smart bracelet, a web application and a mobile application. The mobile application which measures the stress level of the user has been designed for two platforms, iOS and Android, and it has the ability to measure stress using its own smart sensor bracelet or using the capabilities incorporated in smartphones. Based on the data collected, it determines the level of stress. The application has the ability to create user profile which the user fills with a series of personal and medical data. Based to the data, Meridda offers personalized recommendations in the form of relaxation techniques, nutrition and exercises.
Meridda is currently in the phase of a functional beta prototype which has been tested on about a dozen people, with more than 600 hours of operation. The development team consists of five experienced IT engineers and developers, professional medical staff, and Tihana Petričević, the founder and CEO of Studio Rebus. “We are honoured to be part of this competition and to present our project to the jury and the wider audience. The presentation of Meridda in Brussels is a big responsibility for us, but also an honour to have the opportunity to represent Croatia with innovations in the field of health and medicine”, said Petričević.
In addition to this award, Croatian startup Meridda was also selected as one of the top 500 startups in Europe at the Pioneers Festival in Vienna, the Pirate Summit, and the Pioneers of the Balkans and Balkan Venture Forum competitions.
