Another Croatian startup goes global.
Croatian startup company Once Sport has been developing specialized sports applications for the last four years. Their goal is to help coaches worldwide in tactical preparation and analysis of matches. Last year, it had earnings of 1.2 million kuna, while the pre-tax profits were 400,000 kuna, which is a great result for a startup, reports Poslovni.hr on February 28, 2016.
Once Sport makes more than 80 percent of its revenues from abroad, and some of its international clients are Kicker from Germany, Aspire Academy from Qatar, Maribor Football Club from Slovenia, and Primeiro de Agosto from Angola. There is still much room for improvement, which is confirmed by the fact that they have recently doubled the number of employees. They also plan to further expand into other sports markets and to launch new innovative products.
Once Football Video Analyzer is a new product which is already being used by Dinamo Zagreb and PAS Hamadan from Iran, while numerous teams from Hungary, Poland, Serbia and Slovenia are currently testing the product. The new app allows coaches and analysts to prepare video analysis, and the main advantage over other similar applications is ease of use and a comparatively low price of only 600 euros per year.
“Last year was very successful for us, and the whole team is working hard to achieve even better results in the future. By participating in numerous international conferences dedicated to football, we have made contact with a number of clubs and professional staff and have learnt about the problems they encounter in their everyday activities. Our task is to develop tools that will enable coaches to do their jobs in a better and easier way. At the same time, we also offer individual customization to the demands of clubs and coaches, because everyone has their own processes and methods”, explains Dalibor Čvek, the managing director of Once Sport.
Once Football Video Analyzer can be used for other sports as well. In order to maintain the quality and innovation level of their applications, Once Sport has established cooperation with the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing, with four of its professors involved in the technical development of products.
In March, representatives of Once Sport will take part in the MIT Sloan Sports Analytics Conference in Boston, where they will see the latest trends in sports analytics and present the Croatian software to potential international customers.
