A creative duo makes a useful app.
Designer Maja Benčić and developer Dino Budimilić have created an iOS app that simplifies the use of cell phones for both the children and older people, reports tportal.hr on April 11, 2016.
“I have small children, so I wanted to create an application that will make it easy for them to use the cell phone in case something happens or if they maybe want to call someone”, Benčić said. “The app is useful for older people as well because they can quickly and easily call a contact from their phone without having to read small fonts or look for a contact on the contact list”, she added explaining the reasons behind the EasyCall.
Besides Maja, who took care of the idea and design, Dino Budimilić, a developer, has also worked on the project. Both of them invested their time, efforts and good will. “I do not even want to know how much money his efforts are worth because Dino is services are usually very pricey”, Benčić jokes.
Dino and Maja do not have great expectation regarding the number of users, but they do plan to keep developing the app and to offer more features that will be available for a certain amount of money. The basic model will remain free. For now, EasyCall will be available for Apple devices only. To use the app, the user has to have a phone using operating system iOS 9.2 or later. It is compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch. Localization in Croatian is not planned as of yet, but will be offered if the need arises.
It has been obvious for some time that Croatia does not lack talented designers and developers who bring all kinds of useful or simply entertaining software and hardware to the market. Benčić is one of them, and she is not a new name in Croatian designer circles. She has already worked on a number of products that have caught the attention of the media and she keeps enjoying her work on freelance projects as well.
